Community Interest Research Network (CIRC)
About CIRC: CIRC, in collaboration with partner organisations, equips Community and Practitioner Researchers (CPRs) with both qualitative (QL) and quantitative (QN) research skills. Our CPRs play a crucial role in project teams, enhancing the impact of lived experience research on policy and practice across all aspects of integration.
Onward Opportunities: CIRC offers supported progression pathways with routes into a range of CPR Education, Training, and Employment (ETE) opportunities. Whether aspiring to become a lived experience researcher, CR mentor, trainer, bid writer, or consultant, we provide the tools and guidance to help you achieve your CR aspirations.

Brushstrokes Community Project: Welcoming, supporting and empowering asylum seekers, refugees and migrants across Sandwell and West Birmingham.
PLSF Partnership provides training, consultancy and accreditation. Anti-Oppressive Thinking and Practice (AOTP), Wellbeing and Self-Healing are integral to the work we do, to empower and support communities.
Women’s Wellness: We work with the community to bridge gaps of inequality. We are also a Women Wellbeing Hub for BAME women and children experiencing barriers to health services.
AIM Qualifications and Assessment Group is an Awarding Organisation and Access Validating Agency with over 40 years’ experience in creating and awarding qualifications and Access to HE Diplomas.
Maokwo Ltd works in supporting marginalist, minorities groups (refugees, asylum seekers and migrants’ artists) and engaging Communities using Art as a Vehicle.
Baobab's 2024 Community Research Team
Migrant Maternity Research Project
Building on past research from Refugee Women Connect and Brushstrokes Community Project; researchers are undertaking research to understand ways to improve maternity services for migrant women. Our team is made up of a group of community researchers, who are themselves migrants. We aim to explore migrant women’s experiences of maternity services in Birmingham and identify evidence-based recommendations to improve service provision.
