Asylum Guide
Background
The Asylum Guide is designed to help people seeking protection understand their rights, navigate the UK asylum and immigration process, and help people know where to access support services.
It aims to provide clear, accessible information on, accommodation, healthcare, legal procedures and to empower individuals during their asylum journey.
Individuals seeking sanctuary need protection from harm in their home country, and cannot get assistance from their government. They can include:
- People who have arrived in England and are at the port of entry
- People who have claimed asylum and are in hotels or housing
- People in the UK who have a form of leave or overstayed their visa
