Drama
Fun with Drama
Drama is a useful tool for building confidence and increasing Self-Awareness.
When you engage in drama exercises, you are increasing the level of endorphins in your body. Endorphins are feel-good-chemicals which start in the brain and move through your nervous system.
Always start a drama session by waking up the body and mind.
Some examples are:
- Playing with hoops
- Breath work
- Voice work
- Improvising with hats
- Exploring emotions using emojis as a stimuli
- Developing themed tableaux [frozen pictures which tell a story]
The women involved with ‘Journey to Wellness’ worked on adapting four scenes from the play ‘7 Found Hats.’
The four scenes are included here.
In scene 1: They are returning from Carnival when they come across a box of hats in the middle of the street.
Scene 2: Is set at a barbeque at the Refuge House which is disrupted by an unwelcomed visitor.

At the heart of improvisation; role play and character building is laughter. We laughed a lot in these sessions.
